India’s Kedar Jadhav Picks Up Shoulder Injury Ahead of the World Cup

The Indian all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has sustained a shoulder injury in the field during the on-going IPL 2019, which is likely to rule him out of the upcoming World Cup.

The injury was picked up by Jadhav in a clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab and has been ruled out of the tournament.

Jadhav sustained the blow while attempting to stop an overthrow during the Punjab innings. Although he stopped the extra runs but he was visibly in discomfort following that.

He will undergo scans today and more information will be revealed following the results of the scans.

The Chennai coach, Stephen Fleming said:

Kedar Jadhav’s getting an x-ray and a scan tomorrow. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this tournament for us. He’s in some discomfort. Fingers crossed that it is nothing too serious, but it didn’t look that good.

Jadhav has slowly become a vital cog in the Indian setup, contributing with bat as well as haggling the opposition with his low-arm off-spin.

He is one of the four all-rounders who are included in India’s 15-man squad for the World Cup and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to recover in time.

Indian will depart for England on 22nd May and will face South Africa in their first match of the tournament on 5th June.
