Honor has officially launched the X80 Pro Max in China following several leaks about the device.
Its main feature is an 11,000mAh battery, the largest capacity seen so far on a mainstream smartphone. The phone also offers a high-resolution AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and up to 512GB of storage.
Design and Display
The Honor X80 Pro Max features a 6.8-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 2788 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Honor claims the display can reach a peak brightness of 10,000 nits. However, it only reaches this level in an isolated part of the screen during video playback.
The phone comes in black, orange, red and Moon Shadow colour options. It also carries IP68 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water.
An optical fingerprint sensor is placed under the display.
Internals and Software
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
The Honor X80 Pro Max runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10 on top.
Cameras
The phone has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation.
An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
Battery and Pricing
The Honor X80 Pro Max has an 11,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging.
It also supports 27W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge another compatible device through a cable.
The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage normally costs around $295. Honor is currently offering the same model on discount for approximately $250.
