PFA Seals Four Factories in Lahore Seizing Over 60 Tons of Substandard Food

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed four factories while conducting a raid against adulterators in Lahore.

The officials have also seized 68,112-kg of unwholesome food in the operation. As per the details, PFA Director General (R) Usman led the raid.

Moreover, the authority has sealed Chaudhry Food Products in Green Cap Society, Engro Snacks and Beverages on College Road, Sheikh Brothers Nimko in Nishter Town, and Al-Dyan Foods in Township.


PFA Seizes 10,000 kg Material for Manufacturing of ‘Fake’ Beverages

During the operation, the teams confiscated 19,080-kg daal matri, 10,000-liter substandard juice, 34,117-kg chemicals, around 40,000 empty bottles, 1000-kg impure sweets, 1,570-kg chickpea flour, 1120-kg poor quality ghee, and 1225-kg raw material.

According to DG PFA, the said juice and bottle factories have been shut down because they were using substandard raw materials. Moreover, they have been selling juices in non-food grade plastic bottles, which are strictly prohibited in Punjab.
