Pakistani Cricketer Asif Ali’s daughter passed away in a hospital in the United States this Sunday. She was battling with stage-IV cancer.
The news came out just after the end of the fifth OD between Pakistan and England in which Asif scored a quick 22 runs off 17 balls.
While his young daughter was fighting with cancer, Asif was in England for the national duty, partaking in the series against England for World Cup 2019 preparations. It must have been very difficult for Asif, but throughout the series, no one could tell from his performance or presence in the field what he was going through.
The two-year-old Noor Fatima was diagnosed with stage-IV cancer during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) eliminators. On April 22, Asif announced on Twitter that she was being taken to the US for treatment.
My daughter is fighting the stage IV cancer and we are taking her to US for her treatment. A big shout out to @usembislamabad and @USCGLahore for issuing the visa to us within an hour. Special thanks to Mike, Elizabeth, Tanveer & @TalhaAisham Bhai. Keep my princess in your Duas!
