PCB Finally Allows Families to Stay with Players During World Cup

After a month-long standoff, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally given in to the player demands. They have now been conditionally allowed to stay with their families during the World Cup.

But players can’t share the hotel rooms with their wives until after the match against Australia on June 12, at Taunton, ESPNCricinfo reported.

Earlier, the board had refused to allow families to stay with the players during the World Cup. The players were asked to make separate arrangements for their families after the England series.

As per PCB’s new policy, players can no longer stay with their families during tours such as the World Cup to keep them focused on the game.

Middle-order batsmen, Haris Sohail, and Asif Ali were granted special permission on personal grounds.

The new policy came into effect during the recently concluded series against England as players were previously allowed to bring along their families on overseas tours.

Pakistan is set to embark on its World Cup journey, starting with the match against West Indies, on Friday, 31st May in Nottingham.
