Xiaomi’s Eco chain company Shanghai Runmi Technology, under their crowdfunding platform, recently released a new pair of shoes. Unlike other Xiaomi crowdfunded products these shoes are not absurdly out of the box, but are wearable and also good looking.
The shoes are specifically developed to help runners improve their efficiency and reduce any kind of strain that running shoes usually cause.
Construction and Design
The main element of any running shoes is its sole (insole and outsole) and that is exactly what was changed in these running shoes. The soles are made from a combination of lightweight rubber and EVA. Thus, the final material is lighter than normal and provides a softer feel.
On top of this, the sole is equipped with special cushioning to prevent twisting and accumulation of bacteria. The sole is breathable, hence, unlike other running shoes, the user will not experience any hot spots.
The outsole is constructed using a hollow built TPU which protects the arc and provides anti-twisting abilities. Coming to the body, the complete shoe is constructed using a transparent MONO yarn to keep it breathable and lightweight. The body of the shoe wraps around your foot like socks for maximum support.
Prices and Availability
The release date of the shoes hasn’t been announced yet. The final price of the shoes will be $32, however, right now for the sake of crowdfunding, the price is $25.
