The government of Pakistan is in talks with Saudi Arabia for investment in the solar energy sector in Balochistan.
According to the details shared by Power and Petroleum Minister, Omer Ayub Khan, talks are underway to attract investment worth $4 billion to uplift the energy sector in the deprived province.
The Federal Minister announced the news during the launching ceremony of Economic Survey (2018-19) on Monday.
Balochistan has a huge potential for solar energy generation, providing a reliable and economical source of energy for the masses. The news comes as a relief for the people of Balochistan considering the fact that Balochistan has many a time been deprived of its fair share of projects for the economic and social uplift.
The minister further told that the $5 billion Khalifa Point oil refinery will start its operations by the end of the current fiscal year with the collaboration of Saudi Arabia. The refinery has a capacity of producing 250,000 barrels of oil per day.
