Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed has forbidden the authority from procuring luxury vehicles from the Islamabad Highway project.
Traditionally, each engineering project is linked to the procurement of luxury vehicles. During the highway project, CDA has purchased seven vehicles so far.

Now, the current administration of the authority has decided to give up the provision for procurement of luxury vehicles, says a press release. It has decided to channelize the availability of funds to the development works or procurement of an ambulance to set up a trauma center on the highway.
Notably, in the said project, there was a provision for the purchase of a Fortuner luxury four-wheeler, which has been now given up by CDA.
The chairman has further directed the member engineering that no luxury vehicle would be included in any project from now on.
