Xiaomi CC is the first smartphone series that targets youth all around the world and is the first being made in collaboration with Xiaomi and Meitu. Along with other interesting features, Xiaomi has decided to add Animoji-like Mimoji to the list.
First seen in iPhone X, Animoji became so popular that other manufacturers started adopting the feature with a different name. Samsung’s version is called AR Emoji, Huawei’s is called QMoji and Xiaomi settled with the name Mimoji.
Mimoji was first introduced in Mi 8 and was later shipped to other smartphones as well. Almost a year later, Mimoji is making a comeback with the upcoming CC9 smartphone.
Unlike the previous Mimoji, which only had a few characters including the bunny mascot, this Mimoji allows the user to create their own avatar.
It has 165 different hairstyles to choose from along with a number of other and accessories. This was made public by a post on Chinese microblogging site Weibo from Lao Wei’s account.
The app will have some preset avatars as well and will support both pictures and videos.
Mi CC9 will be launched with a Meitu version of the phone as well which will come with an AI-powered portrait mode which is claimed to provide amazing results in low light.
The phone will be released with a 32 MP selfie camera and the company claims that the results are better than iPhone X.
