The Ministry of Communications has retrieved another Rs. 4.5 billion by auditing past projects.
The ministry has been taking several accountability steps for funds recovery. After the recently recovered amount, the total amount recovered through audit has reached Rs. 7.88 billion.
The Ministry has made the revelation in a statement. “An amount of Rs. 4500 million has recently been deposited in national exchequer after the special audit of various projects,” states the ministry.

Earlier, the same ministry generated Rs.4.32 billion through accountability measures introduced by Communication Minister Murad Saeed. The minister had directed to initiate a campaign for the recovery of embezzled funds in various contracts.
Because of the accountability efforts and several initiatives regarding performance, the ministry that was running into loss turned into a profitable one.
