TicWatch Pro 4G Launched With Dual-Screen Tech & More

Mobvoi, a Beijing based consumer electronics company, in the hopes of ridding you from your phone, has announced a sequel to one of the best Wear OS watches under the moniker TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE.

This wear OS powered TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE comes with wireless connectivity to let the users receive voice calls and notifications via the watch.

The watch is currently only announced in the US where it will be exclusive to the carrier Verizon. Moreover, the LTE feature will not be available until next month either. Since the watch comes with a builtin eSIM, international users will also be able to use LTE services when the service becomes available.

Anyhow, let’s see what Mobvoi has in store for us this time.

Design and Display

As compared to its predecessor the TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE comes with a refreshed exterior that features an all-silicon band. Display-wise, the watch features a dual-display technology, both the screens, OLED and semi-transparent FSTN LCD are stacked on each other.

This feature was added as a necessity since OLED consumes more battery and the original TicWatch Pro only lasted two days in full-color AMOLED mode. Hence, to extend the battery life, a user can opt for a less feature-rich FSTN LCD. If you opt for the latter, the watch will last for one month on a single charge.

The TicWatch Pro also carries an IP68 rating so it should do fine for swimming as well. MIL810G rating ensures that bumps don’t damage the smartwatch that easily.

Internal and Storage

On the inside, unfortunately, the upgraded version is almost similar to the previous TicWatch. It uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. Considering recent watches like Fossil Sport are powered by the new SD Wear 3100, TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE’s value for money drops.

Internally, the only change we see is a 1 GB RAM as compared to the previous version that features 512 MB RAM. The RAM is accompanied by 4 GB of built-in storage. TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE also features Google Pay and runs on latest Wear OS.

Its battery capacity remains unchanged at 415mAh.

Sensors and Pricing

TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE debuts the automatic heart rate monitoring and workout detection in combination with Mobvoi’s TicHealth application.

The sensor tracking remains put during the FSTN LCD mode as well. According to Mobvoi, this device is the company’s first device to “offer 24/7 highly accurate monitoring and displays a comprehensive, real-time history of your heart’s health and steps taken on an hourly basis”.

The watch originally costs $299 but if you buy before 10th August, with a 6.5% discount, you will get it for $279.
