Post-World Cup is when cricket boards take big decisions. The captain, coaching staff and selection committees are all at the mercy of the decision-makers in the board.
Indian Head Coach, Ravi Shastri will be parting ways with the Indian cricket team following the team’s failure to qualify for the World Cup final. His contract expires after India’s tour to the West Indies in August-September.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already invited applications for the post, meaning that Shastri’s contract will not be extended.
According to the statement:
The current coaching staff of Team India will get an automatic entry in the recruitment process.
Other posts for which applications are being accepted include batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach, physiotherapist, strength and conditioning coach and an administrative manager.
July 30th is the last date for applications. No applicant above the age of 60 is eligible for the above-mentioned posts.
