Prices of petroleum products could increase by over Rs. 5 in August, if OGRA’s latest summary goes through.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has forwarded a summary to the petroleum ministry proposing a hike of Rs. 5.15 per liter for petrol, Rs. 5.65 per liter for High-Speed Diesel (HSD) and Rs. 5.38 per liter for kerosene oil.

The surge, as it said, is on the basis of increased general sales tax and petroleum levy.
If approved, the revised prices will be applicable from 1st of August.
For the month of July, the oil prices were kept unchanged because of adjustments in tax rates.
