Punjab Hospitals to be Shifted to Solar Power: Minister

The world may be moving towards renewable energy sources but Pakistan is still lagging behind. However, this new development will massively improve Pakistan’s carbon footprint.

Following Punjab Chief Minister’s orders to shift 10,800 government schools in South Punjab to solar energy, Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid has announced a similar plan. She is aiming to get all the public hospitals in the province to run on solar power, according to ARY News.

The Provincial Minister said this in a syndicate meeting held at the Fatima Jinnah Medical University, where she also announced to shift the university to solar power. This is all we have on the matter right now, we’ll update you with any new developments.

Earlier, CM Punjab had directed to complete the solar power shift for schools by December this year so that the areas where transmission lines are not available can also get solar energy.
