Realme to Show Off 64MP Quad Camera Phone Next Week

After several teasers, Shenzen based Realme has finally confirmed a launch date for the world’s first 64MP smartphone camera.

The company is all set to launch its new camera tech and plans to unveil it on Thursday, August 8th in New Delhi, India.

The Chinese phone maker took it to Twitter to post a teaser about the upcoming camera tech. It is unclear whether the company will be launching a new smartphone or just the camera technology.

Realme has confirmed that it will be using Samsung’s Bright GW1 image sensor. This image sensor combines four 0.8 micron pixels into a single 1.6-micron pixel for some incredible 16MP low light shots. It also captures detailed 64MP raw daylight photos.

Realme hasn’t said anything else about the cameras. However, considering that they’ve teased a quad-camera setup, we can expect that the main sensor will be accompanied with a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens, and a depth sensor unit.

We’ll keep you posted on the new Realme phone as more details come.
