Fossil group’s Misfit has added another watch to its portfolio under the name Misfit Vapor X. It is claimed to be the lightest smartwatch offered by the company. The smartwatch is available in five colors accompanied by virtually unlimited interchangeable straps and customizable watch face.
Even though the watch is not as powerful as Fossil’s new Gen 5 watch, it has many features in common with the flagship.
Design and Construction
The Vapor X features a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with 328 PPI pixel density. The 42 mm case weighs only 43 grams and is constructed using lightweight aluminum. It also has hardware buttons on the side. The straps are optimized for sports use, hence are constructed to be breathable and lightweight. It is termed as the Sport Strap+ by the company.
Internal and Storage
Internally, the smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 processor with the usual 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB built-in storage. The Vapor X runs on Google’s Wear OS and is compatible with smartphones with Android 4.4 or above and iOS 10 or above.
Other features the Vapor X comes with include on-device GPS, a heart rate sensor, waterproofing up to 30 meters deep, and NFC for Google Pay. Apart from this, it will come with a pre-installed Spotify application and Cardiogram (to monitor vital signs).
Battery and Pricing
The smartwatch packs a 300 mAh battery and comes with multiple battery modes for different scenarios. As claimed by the company, the battery offers 24 hours of battery life on a single usage. This can be extended by two days if the battery saving mode is turned on.
Currently, the Misfit Vapor X is available at an introductory price of $199.99 which is $80 less than the eventual price i.e. $279.99.
