Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved a three-extension in the service of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The PM Office has issued a statement in this regard. “General Qamar Javed Bajwa is appointed Chief of Army Staff for another term of three years from the date of completion of current tenure. The decision has been taken in view of the regional security environment,” states the PMO.

Although I voted for IK, but his each decision is opposite to what he had preached during his election campaign. I still remeber that in his interview to Javed Chowdhry he had clearly stated that even in times of war, it is necessary, for the integrity of the institution, to replace the COAS as per the laws. Moreover the overall impact on the army will be adverse as was the case when Kiyani was the army chief.
