PEMRA Issues a Notice to GNN for False Propaganda Against Dam Fund

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has served a show-cause notice to GNN for airing false and baseless information regarding Supreme Court’s Dam Fund.

On Wednesday, it was claimed in GNN’s news program “Face to Face with Ayesha Bakhsh” that the money from the Supreme Court’s Dam has been used by the government to pay off its utility bills.

The host, Ayesha Bakhsh, failed to take the government or Supreme Court’s version and continued the propaganda throughout.

When the regulatory authority swung into action, the channel issued a clarification [not an apology] that the National Bank had invested the money in market treasury bills in compliance with the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The channel has been directed to submit its response within five days. Legal action would be taken if it fails to satisfy the inquiry committee of PEMRA.

The program has done huge damage to this good cause as the PML-N social media team and some anti-Pakistan actors are using the information to spread false propaganda against the government and Supreme Court.

  • If she was wrong, then why isn’t the dam being constructed? When will you construct it Niazi and Nisar (the chowkidaar)? Oh, right, earning sood over it! I see! How long? Until the country runs out of water?

    • So how much did you contribute in the fund? I can clearly tell that you are pissed because this fund is not used for treating you to infamous Khoota biryani

  • So, Exactly Dam Funds Ka Amount Hai Kaha Aur Kitna Kaha Kaha Expense Howa ?
    – SBP Q Nahi Status De Rahi ?
    – Kitna Revenue Generate Howa ?
    – Kitna Expense Howa ?
    – Kitna Rupee Interest Hasil Howa ?
    – Kaha Kaha Kaise Kaise Dam Ban K Funds Distribute Howe ?
    – Ab Itni Khamoshi Q Hai ?

  • For the sake of TRPs, our media is continously airing unconfirmed news whether its about the government or about any issue. The max when they get caught red handed or the news is fake, is the correction tickler… Thats it… And still they say that their hands are cuffed.
