OGDCL Discovers Gas and Condensate in Kohat

Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has discovered gas and condensate from its Togh-01 well which is located in district Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

According to the details, the well was drilled down to a depth of 3200 meters. The well was tested at the rate of 12.7 Million Standard Cubic Feet Per Day(MMSCFD) gas, 240 BPD condensate through choke size 32/64″ at wellhead flowing pressure of 2478 pounds per square inch (psi) from Lumshiwal formation.

The well was drilled and tested using OGDCL’s in house expertise, in consultation with Kohat Joint Ventures, Mari Petroleum, and Saif Energy. The Joint Venture of Kohat E.L comprises OGDCL as the operator of the well with a 50% work interest, followed by Mari Petroleum with 33.33% work interest and Saif Energy Limited with 16.67% work interest.

“The discovery at Togh-01 well is the result of an aggressive exploration strategy adopted by the Kohat Joint Venture. It would add to the hydrocarbon reserves of OGDCL, Joint Venture partners and the country,” the company said in a bourse filing.

Earlier, OGDCL had announced 9.12 (MMCFD) of gas and 520 barrels per day of oil through the choke at wellhead flowing pressure of 840psi from its Pandhi #01 exploratory well in district Sagnhar, Sindh and discovery of hydrocarbons at Makori Deep-02 well.

At the time of filing this report, OGDCL’s shares at the exchange were trading at Rs. 111.70, down by Rs. 4.52 or -3.89% with a turnover of 31,81,300 shares.
