In a first, the new constitution of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed hiring a female director. The official will either have the authority of an election commissioner, deputy election commissioner or one of the adjudicators.
The decision was taken on the 55th Board of Governors (BoG) meeting on Friday.
The BoG meeting also approved constituting a three-member nomination committee under Clause 41 of its constitution.
The committee will recommend names for appointment of four independent directors, one of which will be a woman.
“The BoG meeting chaired by PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani also approved various recommendations of the Audit Committee, including the board’s central budget for the 2019-20 financial years,” a press release said.
The Chief Executive of the board Wasim Khan (former MD) also briefed the board members on the outcomes of the cricket committee meeting to discuss the national cricket team’s performance in the last three years.
The meeting acknowledged PCB’s efforts in convincing Sri Lanka to play three ODIs and three T20s in the country.
The six limited-over series games will be played in Karachi and Lahore from September 27 to October 9.
