You Can Now Play Your PS4 Games On All Android Devices

Having a PlayStation 4 is only half the fun. Being able to play AAA titles like Spiderman or Red Dead Redemption 2 on the go thanks to PS4 Remote Play is the real kicker.

According to a recent announcement from Sony, Remote Play will now finally support all Android devices running Android 5.0 and above.

Remote Play is a service that lets you play PS4 games on your phone or tablet over a Wi-Fi connection. The service used to be exclusive to Sony Xperia smartphones and then expanded to iOS devices back in March.

Now, with the latest software update for Playstation 4 version 7.00, it will be available on all Android devices running Android 5 and above.

To get started, you’ll need to update your Playstation 4’s firmware to version 7.00 and set up the Remote Play app on your phone. The console and mobile device will then link up via Wi-Fi and will allow remote gaming sessions as long as the connection is stable.

You can also hook up your DualShock 4 controller to your phone via Bluetooth if you have Android 10, iOS 13, or iPadOS 13. Most of us will have to wait before we can use this feature since Android 10 and iOS 13 are not widely available yet.

Sony recommends a wired internet connection via LAN cable on your PS4 for the best Remote Play experience. You can grab the Remote Play app from the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.
