The smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has been ranked 7th on Fortune’s recently published Future list. The list, now in its third year, is a collaboration between Fortune and BCG, a management consulting firm, and underlines the organization with the biggest future growth chances.
Xiaomi’s first phone was launched in 2011 and it hasn’t looked back since then. Forbes has estimated that it has over 17,000 employees and in the last year alone it earned a revenue of $27.9 billion and a profit of $1.6 billion.
Interestingly, half the companies on the Future 50 lists are either tech or communication based, Xiaomi is the only phone manufacturer in the Top 10:
- Contemporary Amperex Technology
- Vertex Pharmaceuticals
The scoring system emphasizes the long-term viability of the organization instead of its ability to score short-term gains. You can check the full list as well as read more about how each company was scored by Fortune and BCG.
