Call of Duty fans rejoice! PUBG Mobile has been dethroned by Call of Duty as the most downloaded mobile video game worldwide.

Call of Duty Mobile was an instant hit as soon as it was released last month. It captured both Battle Royale fans and those from classic CoD games on PC. It gave players all the classic maps including Killhouse, Nuketown, Crash and game modes such as team deathmatch and free for all.

It captured 100 million downloads in just a week, which is 5 times higher than the love PUBG and Fortnite received on release. This is a huge win for both Activision and game publisher Tencent.

44.3% of the total downloads came from Android smartphones whereas iOS secured more than half of the player base. PUBG, on the other hand, had around 28 million downloads in the first week.

PUBG Mobile is currently in second place and Minecraft is on the third. Games including Clash Royale, Clash of Clans are just below the top three.

Call of Duty Mobile is generating unprecedented numbers with $17.7 million in earnings in just a month and it’s only expected to grow rapidly in the coming months.
