Prime Minister Imran Khan has shared the good news with the Sikh community on the other side of the border, saying that the pilgrims will no longer need to have a passport to visit Kartarpur.
The condition of applying 10 days in advance has also been waived off, PM Khan said in a tweet earlier today.
Those coming for pilgrimage will only need a valid ID to visit their holy site which is slated to be inaugurated on 9th November.
Those planning to visit the shrine on Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birthday – 12th November – and on the inauguration day – 9th November – will not be charged any fees.
According to the reports, the premier will inaugurate the much-anticipated Kartarpur Corridor and former cricketer-turned-politician, Navjot Singh Sidhu will also be in attendance.
