KP Govt Establishes 5 Police Stations to Investigate Narcotics Cases

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) department of Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control is setting up 5 Excise Police Stations in the province.

Excise Police Stations have been delegated powers to register FIRs and investigate the cases related to narcotics.

According to a notification issued under Anti-Narcotics Act 2019, Excise Police Stations have been set up at the regional offices of Peshawar, DI Khan, Abbottabad, Swat, and Mardan.

Moreover, 50 officers of Excise Police have already completed their training at the Police School of Investigation that will allow them to register and efficiently probe into cases related to narcotics.

Previously, after any operation, Excise Police had to go and lodge the FIRs of narcotic cases at the concerned police station.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also become the first province to set up Excise Police Stations through legislation made under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
