Hotel One of Hashoo Group has joined hands with National Logistics Cell to construct service resort hotels under the brand name “Hotel One NLC Collection.” For this, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Hotel One (Pvt) Ltd. and the National Logistics Cell.
The group is looking to provide premium hospitality in one of the most picturesque locations in Pakistan.
Speaking on this joint venture, Hashoo Group Chief Operating Officer, Hospitality Division, Haseeb Gardezi said:
We are pleased to partner with the National Logistics Cell to build and develop resort hotels in Gilgit Baltistan and later in other regions of the country, with a pilot project at Attabad Lake.
He also highlighted that this strategic partnership brings decades of technical and engineering expertise of NLC combined with over 50 years of experience in hospitality management from Hashoo Group. Haseeb Gardezi also highlighted the importance of the economic activity and employment opportunities that the opening of Hotel One NLC Collection will generate in the region of Gilgit Baltistan.
Attabad lake, formed in 2010 as a result of a geographic transformation, is only 14 km away from Karimabad, Hunza. It has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Gilgit-Baltistan offering activities like boating, jet skiing, fishing and other recreational activities.
The General Manager, Planning and Business Development, NLC, Colonel Kamran Ghafoor (Retd) said,
We are proud to present opportunities for tourists to explore the Attabad region in Gilgit Baltistan, enabling them to enjoy their stay in a modern, comfortable and exotic location. We are looking forward to expanding this strategic partnership to other parts of the country.
The Government of Pakistan announced a 10-year tourism policy under which it will improve the country’s infrastructure to attract more tourists.
NLC is an arm of Pakistan Army. As a Pakistani, It is my request to NLC to stay away from these types of business activities. Hashoo group is a billionaire group of Pakistan and if Military organizations will start doing business with top billionaires, then it is dangerous for Professionalism of the Armed forces and also rich people can use their friendships to harass the local people.
If NLC wants to do some business then they should concentrate on logistics of the Armed forces only and should develop new technologies in their field only.
