WhatsApp Finally Gets Dark Mode on Android in Pakistan

The long-awaited dark mode for WhatsApp is finally here. Previously, it was only accessible in the beta version available to a select few, but now it has finally rolled out for everyone on iOS and Android.

Switching to dark mode is easy. Simply go to Settings > Chats > Theme and switch from Light to Dark. The blacks may not be as deep as the ones on Instagram or Google News but are a real treat to the eyes nonetheless, especially in low-light environments.

Switching to dark mode also limits the options available in solid color wallpapers to darker colors and shifts the default WhatsApp wallpaper to a black version.

Files uncovered from the previous beta-version had revealed that dark mode would come with two different themes, a standard dark theme for everyone, and a version with even deeper blacks for phones with OLED displays. The global release, however, only features the standard dark mode, but we hope the OLED dark mode will eventually become official as well.
