Inzamam-ul-Haq Reveals the Player Who Pushed Him So Much He Started Crying

Former Pakistan captain, Inzamam-ul-Haq, has revealed an incident that made him cry during his playing days.

Without naming the player, the 50-year-old said that once he performed badly with the bat and a senior cricketer was really harsh with him that day. The incident got Inzamam so depressed that he cried for half an hour in the shower and couldn’t think about anything else the entire night.

A senior player was really harsh with me on that day. I don’t think I have ever faced that level of harshness as on that day. I cried for half an hour. I was taking a shower and kept crying and I was depressed the entire night after that.

To make things worse, he got his plane seat very next to Imran Khan, who was the captain back then and used to be very strict at times. Imran Khan told him to use his form to good use and then kept sleeping the entire flight as Inzamam continued to pray that he doesn’t wake up.

Inzamam-ul-Haq is the leading run-scorer for Pakistan in One-Day Internationals and the third-highest in Test cricket. He is the only Pakistani batsman to score 20,000 runs in international cricket. He was the captain of the Pakistan national team from 2003–07 before retiring from all forms of cricket.
