Banking Services To Remain Off On Monday For Public Dealing

The State Bank of Pakistan and all commercial banks will remain closed for public dealing due to Bank Holiday on Monday April 27.

According to the notification issued by State Bank of Pakistan, the banks will observe “Bank Holiday” for the purpose of deduction of Zakat on the first working day in Ramadan.

Hence, commercial banks, microfinance banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) shall remain closed for public dealing on Monday, April 27, 2020.

However, all employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend to their official assignments (in-office or work-from-home, as designated under the current COVID-19 situation) on Bank Holiday treating it as a normal working day except for public dealing.

Banks Working Hours In Ramzan

SBP has notified the working hours for banks including prayers banks and hours of public dealing.

Banks will functional from 10 am to 4 pm with a break of 2 pm to 2.15 pm every day from Monday to Thursday. The public dealing hours during the Ramadan will be from 10 am to 1.30 pm without any break.

On Friday, the banks will remain open 10 am to 1 pm. The banks will continue the public dealing during the whole working hours.
