Govt Announces 6 Days of Holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2020

As the holy month of Ramzan nears its end, the federal government has announced 6 days of public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to the official notification issued by the Interior Ministry, there will be public holidays from 22 May to 27 May on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr this year.

All businesses, public places, community markets, and shops will remain closed during this 6 day festivity period due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Only essential items shops, medical services, and medical stores will be allowed to operate during Eid holidays, states the notification.

And as per the Moon Sighting Pakistan website developed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on Sunday, 24 May. However, Pakistan Met Department suggests it will be on May 25th.
