Huawei Mate 40 Will Launch in October With Kirin 1000

Huawei’s Mate series is one of the most anticipated flagships of the year from the OEM. Just like every year, the series is set to launch in the second half of the year.

According to recent reports, the flagship series is all set to launch in October this year and will sport the all-new Kirin 1000 5nm flagship chipset. Previously reports suggested that the series will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 1020 SoC. However, the rumors were disregarded later on.

Last year, the Chinese tech giant launched its flagship Kirin 990 chipset in early September and launched the Mate 30 series later that month. According to Mobile Chip Expert, tech-related news tipster, it is expected to do the same with the Mate 40 series. Kirin 1000 SoC will make a debut in late September, or early October, and the smartphone series will be launched later that month.

The leak also details that the company is aiming to ship around 8 million Mate 40 units by the last quarter of this year.

In other news, Huawei’s Kirin 1000 chipset is being manufactured by TSMC under the codename ‘Baltimore.’ It will most probably be equipped with a Cortex-A78 CPU. Moreover, Huawei is reportedly working on its Mate 50 series that will most likely go official in Q1 2021.
