In a recent development, horsepower.com.pk confirmed through their website that Yamaha shall be launching the new YB-125-Z DX in the Pakistani market.
The website reports that the new YB-125 Z DX will have a price tag of Rs. 163,500 and images of the new variant suggest that the bike shall be offered in the same body style, but with added goodies such as back alloy rims, a single-piston disk brake up front, and some new graphic stickers on the fuel tank.
Seemingly, the bike looks to compete against the new Honda CB-125 F. Although, the CB-125 F is quite a bit more powerful bike as compared to the YB-125 Z DX, as it is based on the old CG-125 Deluxe and features the same high-revving Overhead Valve (OHV) engine, it is thoroughly outdone by Yamaha in terms of riding comfort, as the YB-125 Z DX features a much smoother, albeit less powerful Overhead Cam (OHC) engine which, coupled with the balance-shaft, results in almost zero vibrations, making for comfortable riding experience.
It is also pertinent to mention that the YB-125 Z DX is also significantly cheaper than the CB-125 F, which is priced at a ridiculously high Rs. 187,900, which makes the YB-125 Z DX Rs. 24,400 cheaper than its rival. It should be noted that Atlas Honda did announce 2 price hikes ever since the beginning of Financial Year 2020-21, we can only hope that Yamaha doesn’t follow in their footsteps.
Ever since Yamaha made its rather triumphant return to the Pakistani Market almost 5 years ago, the company has been doing great business, having broken the mold of tired old bare-bones bikes and offering better options to the Pakistani bike enthusiasts. With their return, it is safe to say that all Pakistan based automakers of both, 4-wheel and 2-wheel vehicles, should take notes from their success story.
