PMDC Finalizes Entry Test Dates of MBBS and BDS For 2020-21

Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has finalized the admission policy for MBBS and BDS for the academic year 2020-21.

PMDC has also authorized all medical universities to take the Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for next year’s session.

MDCAT will be organized between 19 September and 25 October all over Pakistan while ensuring complete compliance with Coronavirus SOPs to protect both candidates and staff members from contracting the viral infection.

More than 250,000 candidates are expected to appear in the MDCAT across Pakistan, of which 18,000 would be admitted to medical and dental colleges.

Pre-medical students having a minimum 65% score in FSc or equivalent are eligible to apply for MDCAT.

Candidates who achieve at least a 33% score in MDCAT will be considered for admissions only.

Meanwhile, the final admission will depend 50% on MDCAT, 40% on FSC or equivalent, and 10% on Matric or equivalent.

Registrar PMDC, Brig (retd) Dr. Hafizuddin Ahmed Siddiqui, has said that PMDC has also revised its admission policy for 2020-21 in order to facilitate the applicants according to merit, adding that PMDC has directed all universities to ensure the admission process is completed within the specified time frame.
