Vivo V20: A Mid-Range Phone With High-End Cameras? [Video]

Vivo recently unveiled V20, a decidedly mid-range smartphone in terms of specs but a tad too expensive for them.

Announced on 30th September 2020, Vivo V20 packs 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, coupled with a selfie camera and a theme that catches the eye almost instantly.

Here are ProPakistani’s first impressions of the device.

Design and Display

We received the Sunset Melody variant, and this design might take almost everyone by surprise. There’s a rainbow hue at the back with the camera bump looking like an updated version of a Carl Zeiss module. On the sides, the material feels sleek and the phone is quite slim.

Upfront, the display is a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with a 1080p resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The dew-drop camera cutout leaves out an 83.7% screen-to-body ratio.

Internals and Storage

The inside is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset and the Adreno 618 GPU. It’s a powerful SoC capable of mid-level gaming and app usage without any noticeable lag.

Our variant packs 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, expandable with a microSDXC slot. You get Vivo’s Funtouch 11 OS fresh out of the box on top of Android 11.

Cameras

Vivo V20 sports a triple-camera setup in the rear. There’s a 64MP main sensor, which is a large lens with PDAF compatibility on standby. An 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor sit below the main lens.

The front camera inside the dew-drop notch is a 44MP shooter with Eye Tracking Focus or Eye Autofocus which focuses on a subject’s eyes to make self-portraits more attractive.

Battery, Price, and Availability

The 4000 mAh battery supports 33W fast charging. The fast charger is included in the box and it boasts a 0-100% charge time of just 60 minutes.

Vivo V20 retails for Rs. 60,000 at online retail vendors. At offline markets, you can get the device for as low as Rs 54,000.
