WhatsApp Business Will No Longer Be Free for Everyone

WhatsApp Business is a free to use service from Facebook for small businesses. It helps you connect with customers, market products, and seamlessly answer customers’ questions while talking to them. The company has now announced that some of its services will no longer be free.

While the exact services WhatsApp Business will charge you for were not revealed, the company said in its recent blog post that the decision was made to:

Continue building a business of their own as the company plans to provide and expand free end-to-end encrypted text, video, and voice calling for more than two billion people.

The statement also said that the global pandemic has left businesses looking for efficient and fast ways to service their customers and make sales. WhatsApp became a simple and convenient solution for businesses during this time and according to the company, more than 175 million people message a WhatsApp Business account every day.

Usage patterns showed that people preferred messaging businesses to get help and they were more likely to make purchases when they could.

Lastly, WhatsApp says that the shopping feature will see improvements soon and the app will get support for Facebook Hosting Services. There will be some new charges for Business Sales, but the exact details were not revealed.
