As far as the nature and name of the startup are concerned, Pei remains tight-lipped. Nevertheless, he has promised that he will spill the beans early next year. However, he did reveal that he plans to use the fresh capital to set up an office in London, hire talent, and fund product research and development.

According to TechCrunch’s sources, the venture will focus on audio-related hardware at the start.

Talking about his venture, Pei said,

I am deeply grateful and tremendously excited to have friends of this caliber supporting us in building what’s next. We plan on moving aggressively against our vision and can’t wait to see how the market will react.

As far as OnePlus is concerned, the Chinese company is still avoiding questions regarding its ownership.
