These Smartphone Manufacturers Will Launch Foldable Phones in 2021

According to the latest reports, the foldable smartphone market is going to get much bigger next year. So far, the key players of the market are Samsung, Motorola, and Huawei.

However, according to the latest leak by Ross Young, the founder, and lead analyst at Display Search and DSCC, other smartphone OEMs like OPPO, Vivo, Google, and Xiaomi will jump the bandwagon next year and will launch foldable smartphones. The second half of 2021 will be especially exciting in terms of foldable phones.

Apart from this, he also revealed that Samsung would announce at least three models to its foldable lineup next year, which will include a lite model. The smartphones will most likely be Galaxy Z Fold3, Z Flip2, and Z Flip Lite. Young has also disregarded the Fold3 Lite rumors and has claimed that the company will instead launch an affordable model for the Flip lineup.

Furthermore, according to the leak, one of the three big Chinese players, i.e., OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi, will launch two models of its foldable phone. Out of the three, only Xiaomi has demonstrated a working prototype, but all three of them have filed patents for various foldable smartphone designs.

Moreover, Google has also confirmed it was working on foldable smartphone prototypes, and earlier this year, an internal document from the firm revealed a foldable phone codenamed ‘Passport’ hinting at a Galaxy fold like form factor.

Since the leak coincides with all the previously revealed information, it is quite believable that quite a few foldable smartphones will be launched next year.
