Vivo’s offshoot iQOO has announced its latest budget-friendly smartphone dubbed the iQOO U3. Despite being designed as a budget-friendly alternative to more expensive phones, the smartphone comes with a higher refresh rate, a 5000 mAh battery, and a 48 MP dual-sensor rear camera setup.
Design and Display
The smartphone comes with a dual-toned back featuring a black squircle camera bump. It is built around a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch, 20.07:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2408 pixels resolution, a 401 PPI pixel density, HDR10, and a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Internals and Storage
Internally, the iQOO U3 is powered by the Dimensity 800U chipset accompanied by 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.1 storage without support for expansion. It runs the iQOO 1.5 UI, based on Android 10 OS.
Cameras
The smartphone is equipped with a dual-sensor camera setup with a 48 MP main shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor. It also comes with support for photography features such as night scene, panorama, time-lapse photography, EIS, and 4K video recording.
The selfie camera is an 8 MP single sensor shooter.
Battery and Pricing
The whole package is fueled by a 5000 mAh cell backed by 18W dual-engine fast charging. The phone is currently available in China, and its base variant retails at $229.
