University of Health Sciences (UHS) has successfully completed the phase-III clinical trials of a Chinese vaccine. More than 3,000 volunteers from all over Pakistan had participated in these trials.
A formal ceremony to celebrate the successful conclusion of the vaccine trials was held at UHS which was attended by Vice-Chancellor UHS, Prof. Javed Akram, and Chinese healthcare experts. Prof. Javed Akram congratulated the Chinese delegation on achieving the milestone.

While speaking with media outlets after the ceremony, Prof. Akram noted that the vaccine has triggered the intended immune response among the participants, adding that detailed findings of the clinical trials will be published soon.
The candidate vaccine, known as Ad5-nCoV, has been developed by CanSinoBIO, a Chinese vaccine manufacturer, in collaboration with the Beijing Institute of Biotechnology.
