Samsung has a number of devices lined up for 2021. The Galaxy S21 series is expected to debut next month and we will also get to see a handful of new foldables later in 2021. However, according to a tipster, none of these devices are as interesting as two others Samsung has in store.
The tipster says that Samsung has a tri-folding phone planned for next year as well as a phone with a transparent display. Similar to TCL’s model, this tri-folding phone will have two hinges and three different foldable parts of the screen. It could also look like TCL’s or Oppo’s iteration, but it remains to be seen what design the company will go for.
As for the transparent display phone, we expect that all the components of the device will be placed at the bottom instead of behind the screen. These components will project content onto the screen above which will appear to be transparent, similar to Xiaomi’s Mi TV Lux.
Additionally, the tipster mentions that the company has rollable and scrollable phones planned for 2022. A number of different companies including TCL and LG have already shown off their rollable and scrollable concept devices and it seems Samsung will have its own models ready in 2022.
Finally, the tipster says that Samsung has a “legendary” phone coming that we “never thought to happen”. There are no details on this just yet but we expect to hear more in 2021.
