PSCA Impounds Motorcycle Over Non-Payment of 139 E-Tickets

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) impounded a motorcycle on Monday after learning that the owner had not paid overdue fines for 139 e-tickets.

According to a media report, the motorbike was impounded near DHA Phase-5, Lahore, where the traffic warden had stopped its rider after receiving directions from the PSCA.

The motorbike was caught on a surveillance camera in the area and the e-ticket data was traced via an application that has been given to the police force by the PSCA, according to which the owner has an outstanding amount of Rs. 27,800 in overdue fines for 139 e-tickets.

He added that the confiscated bike will be released to its owner after he pays the outstanding fines.

The report further states the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Syed Hammad Abid, has formed 17 special teams to take strict action against e-ticket evaders.

Additionally, the entire traffic police force has been provided special applications that are integrated with the database of the PSCA to allow wardens to track down e-ticket defaulters and apprehend them for legal proceedings with ease.
