Xiaomi Mi 11 Launched With a Large 6.81-Inch AMOLED Screen And Triple Cameras

Breaking free from the current trends of the market (launching two or three phones in its flagship series), Xiaomi has made its Mi 11 series official today by launching a single top-end model.

Mi 11 is the first smartphone launched with the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC and features an AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution.

Design and Display

The flagship handset comes with a unique design featuring a pill-shaped camera bump on top of a squircle bump. Like most of its products, Xiaomi has followed a minimalistic approach with the smartphone’s design. There is not a lot happening on the phone except for the camera bump.

It is built around a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel with QHD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 1500 nits advertised peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The display curves at both sides and comes with Goodix’s latest optical fingerprint scanner underneath.

Internals and Storage

As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi Mi 11 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 chip topped with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 128 or 256 GB onboard storage. Like most flagships, it does not come with an SD card slot for storage expansion. The smartphone runs MIUI 12.5 flavored Android 11.

Other interesting specifications of the handset include Harman Kardon-tuned stereo speakers, improved Night Mode capabilities, dual 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and top-end navigation services.

Cameras

At the back, the smartphone features a triple sensor camera system. The main sensor is the 108 MP unit we saw in the Mi 10 series. It is topped with a 7P f/1.85 lens. The complimentary sensors include a 13 MP ultrawide angle camera with a 123-degree FOV and a basic 5 MP macro lens.

For selfies, it is equipped with a 20 MP shooter.

Battery and Pricing

The smartphone packs a 4600 mAh power cell that comes with support for 55W wired fast-charging, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse charging. According to Xiaomi, it will work with every Quick Charge 4+, Quick Charge 3+, and Power Delivery 3.0 adapter.

The handset does not come with a charger in the case. However, if a user does not have a compatible charging brick, he/she can claim one for free.

Pre-orders for the device have already started, and sales are scheduled for 1st January 2021. The base model of the smartphone will cost $610.
