Samsung Announces New TV Features for a Home Cinema Experience

Samsung is set to make an appearance at the upcoming CES 2021 where it plans to announce a number of new TVs and home entertainment services. The tech giant has announced new features for its upcoming TVs just in time before launch.

These new features aim to create a home theater experience since most cinemas have closed down during the pandemic. They have been created in partnership with studios, filmmakers, and other manufacturers.

Samsung’s new QLED TVs will feature HDR10+ Adaptive and Filmmaker Mode whose goal is to show movies just as the director intended. HDR content is best viewed in a darkened room but users cannot always turn off the lights or draw the curtains before watching a movie.

HDR10+ Adaptive solves this problem by optimizing the TV’s light sensor for best viewing results regardless of the lighting conditions. The Filmmaker Mode adjusts the TV’s image settings so that the movie matches the filmmaker’s intent.

Additionally, Samsung has teamed up with Amazon to make sure all HDR content on Prime Video will be available as HDR10+ including 4K titles.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and a number of other distributors are pushing out HDR10+ content as Samsung works to expand the availability of the feature around the globe.
