Slack Starts 2021 With a Global Outage

Slack, the American work communication platform that is used by millions for business as well as school, suffered a global outage on Monday, which was the first workday of 2021 for many. This was more disrupting than usual for everyone given how many people depend on online facilities for work and school during the pandemic.

In a statement shared on Twitter, Slack said:

Customers may be experiencing issues connecting and using Slack at this time. Our team is currently investigating and we’re sorry for any troubles this may be causing.

The disruption affected services in many regions across the globe including the U.S., Germany, India, the U.K., Japan, and others. It started around 8 PM Pakistan time and it wasn’t until 10:30 PM that people started seeing improvements. The outage was mostly resolved by 1 AM and Slack also provided a link to its users for regular updates on resolving the issue around the globe.
