UHS Students Demand Postponement of All Professional Exams

Medical students have taken to Twitter to demand the University of Health Sciences (UHS) to postpone all its scheduled examinations due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

#DelayAllProffsUHS is trending on Twitter as the Twitterati expressed their demand to postpone the examinations amidst the ongoing pandemic.

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan, tweeted that an important meeting will take place today regarding the examinations of the Pakistan Medical Colleges in which all aspects of the situation will be reviewed in detail.

While demanding the postponement of the examinations, a medical student also tweeted about their mental health.

Another user said that as no practical examinations will be held for the Matriculation and Intermediate students this year, the medical students demand the same.

The Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood, recently announced that educational institutions across the country will be reopened in phases.

He said, “On 18 January, classes for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 — those that have exams — will resume. This means that students of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 will go to their schools and colleges from January 18 and their studies will resume”.

In the second phase starting on 25 January, primary classes to Grade 8 will be reopened, and in the last phase, universities and other higher education institutions will be reopened on 1 February.
