CDWP Approves Four Health Projects Worth Rs. 20 Billion

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved four projects worth Rs. 20 billion.

The meeting was presided over by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan.

All four projects presented in the meeting were related to health.

The first project presented in the meeting was, “Establishment of 200 Bedded Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College, District Attock, Punjab” worth Rs. 5817.35 million. The other two projects were for “Establishment of 200 bedded Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College”, worth Rs. 8055.09 million and Rs. 5821.36 million.

These were approved with the same changes by the CDWP. The main objectives of these three Mother and Child Hospitals projects are to improve access of marginalized communities to quality maternity and immediate newborn care.

These will provide quality services, including medical and surgical services to mothers and children to strengthen preventive services like immunization, nutrition, and family planning to children and mothers of the catchment population.

Another project related to the health sector was “Feasibility of NIHD Centre of Excellence in Prevention, Cardiovascular research and Development” worth Rs. 25 million, which was also approved by the meeting.

Senior officials from federal governments also participated in the meeting, while representatives from provincial governments participated through video links.
