LG Announces its 2021 OLED TV Lineup

At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021, LG has announced its 2021 OLED TV lineup. Although the press release is somewhat vague with not a lot of details or pricing, we believe that the company is working on five new OLED TVs that will be launched in the upcoming months.

The models that will be launched include:

LG G1

This will be LG’s next-gen OLED TV and will come with LG’s proprietary OLED Evo tech. According to the company, the TV is capable of higher brightness levels and will be available in 55, 65, and 77-inch sizes. It will feature the new Alpha9 Gen 4 image signal processor, also found on the company’s QNED99, QNED95, NANO99, and NANO 95 LCD models.

This new processor, as per LG’s claims, uses deep learning algorithms to upscale content and has a feature called AI Picture Pro that recognizes objects such as faces and bodies.

LG C1

This is most likely going to be the next popular model in LG’s lineup after the success of 2020’s CX. The TV will start at 48-inches and will go up to 83-inches which will be a first for the company. The device will, however, ditch the OLED Evo.

LG Z1

It seems like the 8K Z1 model will be available in 77 and 88-inch sizes. It will also flaunt the new Alpha9 Gen 4 image signal processor and will have the ability to detect content genre and adjust the image accordingly.

All 2021 TVs launched by the company will feature the new AI Sound Pro with support for virtual 5.1.2 surround sound and Dolby Atmos. They will come with a webOS 6.0 smart TV platform, a game optimizer feature, NVIDIA GSYNC, and AMD FreeSync Premium.
