Osman Nasir, Managing Director, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has stated that Pakistan’s IT industry has reached an important milestone in its journey.
Osman Nasir announced in a statement that the present government is taking all the possible steps to ensure a long-term IT industry growth trajectory and to facilitate its exports which are already tax-exempt.

Measures are being undertaken to develop the IT industry ecosystem in the secondary and tertiary cities of Pakistan. In this context, the PSEB registration fee for the IT and ITeS companies, including the call centers and IT startups that are based in the underserved areas has been waived off for one year, and will include all other areas apart from Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Karachi.
This is expected to expand Pakistan’s IT Industry ecosystem and t create a vibrant tech culture across the country, the MD said.

He added that Software Technology Parks are being prioritized by the present government to achieve this objective.
In this regard, a Software Technology Park had recently been inaugurated in Gilgit and is already fully occupied by IT companies.
