Xiaomi has officially launched the highly anticipated MIUI 12.5, the company’s latest custom UI for its bleeding-edge smartphone range. Similar to earlier OS versions, the update focuses on improving performance topped with a reconditioned user interface.

Improved Gestures
Earlier versions of MIUI supported gestures and subsequent tasks on a single thread, causing the CPU to lag due to overload. The 12.5 version supports gestures on a separate thread, guaranteeing optimal response.
Uninstallable System Apps
MIUI 12.5 now allows users to uninstall system apps. Regarding applications “engraved in the system core”, the new update allows users to hide them.
Some of the newly Uninstallable System Apps include Mi Calculator, Notes App, Weather, Compass, Scanner, Mi Recorder, and more. The ones that can be hidden include Mi Music, Themes, Mi Video, Downloads, and Mi File Manager.
