Details Regarding MWC 2021 Made Public

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, most companies were forced to switch their events and conferences to online platforms. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that took place last month was also an all-digital event, but the next big upcoming tech event appears to be changing things around.

The Barcelona-based Mobile World Congress (MWC) event, which was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, will now be an in-person event rather than an online one. However, to minimize the risk of spreading the sickness, the event will cut down the total number of attendees from 100,000 to 50,000. All attendees will be required to take a COVID-19 test 72 hours before their arrival.

Other measures are also going to be there, such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, controlled traffic flow, crowd density, and stand capacity. There will be touchless registration at all information points, disinfectants at regular intervals, product samples, and audio-visual equipment.

Last year, the event was canceled as several companies withdrew from the conference in the wake of the pandemic. It remains to be seen whether the companies will be willing to take the risk this year with all the safety measures in place.
